Avengers - Age of Ultron is a sequel to the 2012 movie “The Avengers”. Those who closely follow Marvel movies know how the plot built-up started for The Avengers all the way from Hulk 1& 2, Captain America - The First Avenger, Iron Man 1 & 2 and Thor. Post Avengers, we had three movies - Iron Man 3, Thor 2 and Captain America - The Winter Soldier.

The story picks up from where Captain America - The Winter Soldier left off. H.Y.D.R.A is still out there, trying all possible things to hit back hard on S.H.I.E.L.D The movie beings with the Avengers fighting with remaining bits of Hydra, trying to retrieve Loki’s Scepter. Indeed, they do succeed, but while fighting, they do come across two new enemies, Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch. Quicksilver has powers to sprint fast (like Flash) whereas Scarlett Witch can take control of one’s mind to make them dream and foresee their worst fears. Here’s a quick look at the Avengers - Age of Ultron promo.

The Plot
After retrieving the Scepter, Dr. Banner and Stark try to study the Scepter’s power source and look for possible ways harness its energy. Stark’s idea is to make Ultron, a suit of armor based on artificial intelligence. They try different permutations and combinations, but no luck. Stark asks Jarvis to run some other tests while he’s not around. One combination works, but the plan goes South as soon as Ultron takes over Jarvis and corrupts the software.

Ultron confronts the Avengers who are partying post mission completion. According to Ultron, the way to peace starts with the extinction of human race, and off course, the Avengers. After digging for some leads, the Avengers head to a location to take on Ultron. Here, they face-off Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch, who casts a spell and plays with their mind. Most affected of the lot is Hulk, who loses control and goes on a destruction spree. Perfect time, Iron Man brings in Veronica (or Hulkbuster suit). After a good fight, Hulk calms down, things get normal and the Avengers head to a safe house to plan their next course of action to defeat Ultron.

The Good
A well told story, great locations, excellent special effects and well executed action sequences all make for a perfect treat. There’s a lot to look forward to in Avengers - Age of Ultron. Stark Tower (or Avengers tower, if you wanna call it), the awesome chemistry shared between characters, a little bit of humor and most importantly, the fight between Hulk and Iron Man, its totally worth every penny. Also, the birth of new character, Vision and the penultimate last 15 minutes is a total bliss.

The Bad
Being a Marvel fan, I had high expectations. Indeed, there wasn't a second when I felt it boring or so. However, with too many superheros, I felt it a little cramped up. Not everyone had enough screen presence. While a few of my friends felt that the story is dragged, I am of a completely different opinion. I felt, little more detailing of story line and some screen space to other characters would have been good.

Verdict
On the whole, Avengers - Age of Ultron has all that it takes to be called as an entertainer. Be it the stunning visuals or the awe inspiring action sequences, its definitely a movie to watch. While some prefer 2D version, I highly recommend to watch in 3D. If your nearby theater has Dolby Atmos technology, that would just be an icing on the cake. Go, watch it!

Rating - 4/5
