Christopher Nolan needs no introduction. He’s a great director who has given us some of the best movies such as the Memento, Man of Steel, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Returns and one of my all time favorites, the Inception. The latest release, Interstellar has been the most anticipated movie of the year. It’s a spectacular space journey that you simply cannot afford to miss at any cost. Why? Read on the review to know more!

In case you missed the promo, here it is!!

Plot -
The latest expedition of Christopher Nolan, the “Interstellar", is to a galaxy far off from earth. A group of scientists go on a mission in hunt of a place to dwell - a viable replacement for our degrading earth. The mankind is about to end, dust storms hitting the earth and farmers finding it difficult to grow crops. The only solution here is to look for a planet that can accommodate the human civilization.

Cooper (played by Matthew McConaughey) is an engineer and a former NASA pilot who has now turned farmer, living along with his son Tom, daughter Murhy and father-in-law Donald. Cooper’s daughter believes that their house is haunted and the ghost is somehow trying to communicate with her. To prove that ghosts don’t exist, Cooper takes a scientific approach, to later find out that its some sort of a coded message passed through means of the gravitational anomaly, with a pattern resembling the morse code.

This leads them to NASA’s secret base which is led by Professor Brand. Cooper, being one of the best pilots trained for such missions, he’s their only hope to travel through the wormhole discovered in the solar system of Saturn. Prof. Brand believes there’s some planet out there, where the entire human race can survive. And then begins the one and half hour of space expedition and time travel through the galaxies.

The Good -
Interstellar is a visual treat for sci-fi movie lovers. Right from the very first scene, you’re hooked on to the story, eager to crack the mystery before the its unveiled. You get to experience the great locations and excellent picturization along with a well executed direction from Christopher Nolan.

Visual effects are top-notch, be it the time when the spaceship enters the wormhole, or when they reach the planet to find answers or the journey back to the earth, everything is just so perfect. Matthew McConaughey as Cooper carries his role with responsibility.

The Bad -
A little disappointed with Ann Hathway’s character, she didn’t have had much to do. For those, who are unaware of the theory of relativity, time dilation and gravitation, may find the story a little difficult understand, especially the ending.

Verdict -
Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar is one scientific adventure you shouldn’t miss and if possible, do watch the Imax version. It’s inarguably one of the best movies I have seen in recent times, after Captain America - The Winter Soldier. Right from eye pleasing visual effects and Hans Zimmer's background score to the gripping storyline, everything is in sync. Go ahead, you won’t regret the two hours of this space expedition.

Rating - 4/5 (Highly Recommended)
