Aamir Khan movies are something that most of us look forward to, and why not, he's known as the perfectionist. Today, almost all producers use innovative marketing strategies to create buzz about their forthcoming movies. And with Aamir Khan on-board, things had to be different. The first promo that went online, the motion poster had Aamir Khan running naked on the railway track, with just a transistor covering his private parts. It did create controversies and there were also talks about the ban, and what not. After all sorts of drama, the movie has successfully released! Being an Aamir Khan film and directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the expectations are pretty high. But, does PK succeed to entertain? Read on my PK movie review below.

Story –
Usually, the movie promos reveals a good amount of its plot, but in case of PK, the makers smartly kept the story under wraps. No one really had even a slightest of hint about the plot, so hats off to the team. PK is essentially a story about an Alien Astronaut (Aamir Khan) who is sent on Earth to learn more about the people, culture, etc.

Soon after landing on earth, his remote control to communicate with the spaceship gets stolen. The plot revolves around his difficulties in understanding the language, talking to people and finding his lost remote control. The story has some striking similarities with bits and pieces lifted from Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar starrer Oh My God, OMG! The number of Gods, different religions and also the stupid things people do in name of God and Religion.

The Good –
Aamir Khan, as usual, is at his sheer best. He fits in perfectly and with his lunatic expressions, I don't think anyone else would have come that close. Anushka Sharma as Jaggu didn't have much to do, but whatever her role was and her chemistry with Aamir, it was good to watch. The part where Aamir tries to show Jaggu's father how people consider a stone as the God and start praying before it, is very well executed. Also, the scene where people roll on the floor, hit themselves with chains, knife in the name of road shows or be it pouring liters of milk on God's idol are also very well shown.

Sushant Singh Rajput, had sort of a guest appearance, but whatever on-screen time he had, he did make his presence felt. And finally, Saurabh Shukla as Godman Tapasvi Maharaj is top-notch. The songs, Char kadam, Battery Recharge and Love is a waste of time are melodious and well choreographed too. Other songs like Nanga Punga Dost and Tharki Chokro simply looked cramped in.

The Bad –
Its still pretty hard to digest and alien, butt naked coming down to explore planet earth, the need to touch people to "download" the language or the jokes that felt like purposely stuffed in, they lacked the real humor. The storyline goes for a toss when you're confused if the idea was to make fun of religion / god or was it to finally have faith in the non-living stone.

The Ugly –
The dancing car (do people in India, and especially Rajasthan really have sex in their cars, in the middle of the road?). I wont be comfortable with my family to watch such scenes. The condom part, where the guy hesitates to claim its his and the far stretched scene.

Verdict –
Aamir Khan's PK is good for one time watch. Rajkumar Hirani does a good job again -  he's one of the finest directors we have in India. But this time around (unlike Munnabhai 1 & 2, and 3 Idiots), Hirani and his script writers seem to have lost somewhere, due to which the movie has no clear message to pass on. If you're not an Aamir Khan fan, you can skip PK, for others, watching PK is a no brainer.

Rating – 3.5/5
